Seattle Bar Mitzvah – Temple de Hirsch Sinai – Barak
What a treat! I had the pleasure of photographing the Seattle Bar Mitzvah of Barak recently at the Temple de Hirsch Sinai temple.
First of all, Temple de Hirsch Sinai is a GORGEOUS building, inside and out. It’s comforting and warm. They have the greatest architecture inside. Most notably, a giant star on the ceiling and these amazing stained glass windows all around. All of these elements welcome you in.
All of Barak’s friends and family were present for his Seattle Bar Mitzvah. They came from as far as Michigan, for this huge moment in his life. I was touched by the Bar Mitzvah ceremony. Barak handled all of the prayers and readings eloquently and with grace. This is a grand moment in a young man’s life. After the service all of the guests enjoyed a beautiful luncheon at the Temple.
The real party started later that evening at the Westin in Bellevue! It was an evening of merriment! Dancing, games, break dancers to entertain and tons of food. In addition, there was the giant custom cake in the shape of an Air Jordan shoe, candy bar and beautiful decorations everywhere. As always, the Hora is my favorite part. And all of Barak’s family, including him, took turns being lifted and celebrated. I love the Hora and get as much into the action as I can.
The Reibman family is one of the nicest families I’ve ever worked with. Also, they are so kind and loving. Their children are charming, friendly and delightful. They welcome you with open arms and care about others, you can tell.
In conclusion, this was such a fun event. I can’t wait to photograph more Seattle Bar Mitzvah!
