Motto of the Week Revisited :: Do Something New

It’s Thursday and this week, my weekly motto was to “Try Something New.” As I sat in the dentist chair this morning all I could think of was eggs benedict. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the nitrous I was on. I couldn’t get them out of my mind and I kept thinking…

    Love it! We have that motto for my husband and I’s birthdays. our birthdays are 4 days apart so we celebrate the same week..and every year we try to do something neither of us have ever done..big or small. 🙂ReplyCancel

Motto for the Week :: Doing Something New

I’m a creature of habit. I know the things I like and I stick to them. But occasionally, I’ll try something new. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it works out so incredible – like the time I tried Thai food, thinking that I hated Thai food, and loved it. And to this…

      I know – I’m a freak of nature. I want to like it. But every time I try it, I end up spitting it out.ReplyCancel

    excellent challenge, I also am a creature of habit! I think we all are to some extent. This week I am sticking to just one cup of coffee a day. I know, it sounds small, but that is a huge change for me and I am excited to see what new positive changes it may spur!ReplyCancel

    I love Zumba, sorry you didn’t feel the same. Always remember that your only as silly as you feel and that your probably not the only one in the room feeling like you did.ReplyCancel

Weekly Motto :: Limits

I wonder where this quote even came from. What does it mean? I mean I know what it MEANS to us but . . . it’s not that important. I was just thinking about it. September will prove to be the busiest month of the year for me, both professionally and personally. I’m getting pumped…

    So busy! Our September is a little busier than August, but not as busy as our October will be. It’s a nice stepping stone full of watching sports and praying for cooler weather so we can spend time outdoors again!ReplyCancel

Weekly Motto :: Growing Older

I am rapidly approaching my birthday next week. And I’ll be [gasp] 42 years old. How is that possible? I still feel like a kid. Birthdays have never bothered me that much. Turning 25 was sort of strange (being a quarter of a century old), turning 30 wasn’t a big deal, turning 40 . ….

Weekly Motto :: A Single Step

And the journey of 4,000 miles begins with a crazy idea. This week I am taking off for a serious road trip. My sister-in-law and I are hitting the road Wednesday morning to drive to Colorado. We’re driving 3 days there, seeing a concert and driving 2 days back. And you’re going to ask “You’re…

Weekly Motto :: Finding Joy

More and more I’m trying to find joy in the smaller things. The everyday things. The sun shining through my window in the morning. The same cup of tea I have 14 times a day. Your favorite person’s smile. Feeling gratitude for all the things I do have. Yesterday when everyone was complaining about how…
